These nails are made of higher carbon steel for greater stiffness. Available by the pound or box.SIZES: 40D, 60D Plastic cap nails are excellent for tar paper, nailing up curtain, etc. Poly cap fitted to nail reduces the tearing from the sharp edge of conventional tin caps. Available by the pound or by the box (weight per box varies). SIZES: 1½", 2", 2½", 3" Concrete (Masonry) nails are used if you're working with attaching a piece of wood or other material to concrete or masonry. Concrete nails are specially made for this type of job because they are made stronger and heavier than common nails. If you tried to use a common nail to join wood and concrete together, the nail would probably bend over or break off. Even if you did manage to get a common nail into concrete or masonry, it wouldn't hold as well because it's not designed for this use. Available by the pound or by the box. SIZES: 6D, 8D Duplex nails are nails with a collar designed to prevent it from being driven flush, making it easy to remove, used for temporary structures. Available by the pound or by the box. SIZES: 8D, 16D Finish nails are a wire nail with a small head that can easily be concealed. We refer to these nails also as "smooth finish" nails. Available by the pound or by the box. SIZES: 8D Cement coated sinkers are slimmer than common nails and shorter than box nails to prevent splitting, but coated in cement to increase holding power. Available by the pound or by the box. SIZES: 8D, 16D, 20D Common nails have a slender shaft and a broad, flat head. Available by the pound or by the box. SIZES: 20D, 30D, 40D, 60D Drywall nails are used for hanging regular drywall that is to be taped and finished later. These nails must have adequate holding power and a head design that does not cut the face paper. They must also be of the proper depth to provide exactly 1 inch penetration into the framing member. Nails commonly used are chemically-etched and are designed with a cupped head. Available by the pound or by the box. SIZES: 1¼", 1½" Spikes are nail like fasteners, 3 to 12 inches (7.6 to 30.5 cm) long and proportionately thicker than a common nail, for fastening together heavy timbers or railroad track. Available by each or box. SIZES: 10", 12" Splitless siding nails "Split-Less" Wood Siding Nails are specially designed for split-prone woods such as cedar and redwood. Slim, sturdy shank and special blunt point virtually eliminate splits. Available by the pound or by the box. SIZES: 8D, 10D, 16D Underlayment nails have sharp ring shanks that insure holding power. Recommended for underlayment, sheathing, and sub floor applications. Available by the pound. SIZES: 1-7/8", 2¼" Hardboard siding nails are extra stiff nails that allows them to be driven through 2 thicknesses of hardboard siding without bending. Head drives flush. Double dipped in molten zinc. SIZES: 8D, 10D, 16D Hardiplank nails Available by the 5# box. SIZES: 6D, 8D
